Our thermometer on the back deck read 103F yesterday afternoon. Our actual high was 99. I think it’s finally gotten a bit hot for me. With the humidity and general haze in the air, it was a day to stay indoors. I felt rotten anyway so it wasn’t a stretch. I only went out to B*d B*th and B*y*nd to buy a new vacuum cleaner. I HATE buying appliances. HATEITHATEITHATEIT. The last vacuum cleaner I bought was about 4 or 5 years ago and it was a K*enm*ore and broke down more often than it ran. Our back-up was a 25 year old Hoover that still ran (it had age issues) but was a fire concern because the cord would be hot to handle when you were done using it. So, I have been sorta looking around and half-heartedly decided to try a Dys*n. I found one that was on sale with a 20% off coupon so it was no more expensive than the K*nm*re and just a tad more expensive than the Hoover 25 years ago. It’s heavy like the Hoover and hard for Mom to handle, but I think she’ll use it rarely, but will be able to use it. I think I’m impressed. I had vacuumed on Saturday to get up the average of 20 lbs. of dog fur we get weekly. When I tried the Dys*n, it pulled up dust and dog hair. It was a major “eeeeewwwwww” moment. But, it did what it said it would and I think that’s a good thing. This is not an endorsement. I’ll let you know if I’m still in love in 10 years or so because I expect alot from my appliances.
I did some knitting. I finished another kiddle hat. I have two that are identical. I will knit one more like them and then I’ll be out of the Tahki bulky something yarn I bought on sale years ago. Imagine two instead of one. They are identical except for my personal design mistakes elements.
My soundtrack for today? Oh, it’s Janis and “Move Over”. What are you hearing????
Have a good one!

So far today has been the Cowboy Junkies and Bob Dylan (ha like you couldn’t guess that). I did hear the Who in my sleep Saturday night but last nights sleep was much better.
Love the little hat(s)!!
Oi, when I see the temps and humidity where you’re at, I’m not looking forward to going to Florida in the dead in the summer next month. My hair is going to be like medusa!!!
I’ll be curious to see how the vacuum works out for ya, as I’m just about ready for a new one too, but like you, I don’t particularly like appliance shopping (w/ the exception of kitchen appliances, heh).
The hat looks nice and warm – just what they’ll need. Have a great Monday!
Have a great
I hate having to spend money on thigs that mean more work. I need a new vaccuum cleaner too, but would rather spend the money on yarn.
Ok, so I’m majorly behind in reading my buddies blog posts, but I’m making progress in fits and starts. I read this tonight and bust out laughing! Why? Because I just threw away the hepa filter on my Dirt Devil vacume last Sunday because the first thing I noticed when I started the vac was the smell of “DOG” that the vac was pouring out. I removed the external filter to look at it and the hubster said to throw it away! It was obviously not working.,lol The funny part was…it was the original filter! Something like 8 years old! No wonder it gave up the ghost! Got a new one today and almost…almost can’t wait to see if there is a difference tomorrow. I’m just laughing at our almost paralell lives.
Love ya girlie and am working on a package to come your way. Don’t hold your breath though, k? I’m kinda erratic right now. lol
