Sir William Churchill says, “Friday is my lucky day. I was born, christened, married, and knighted on that day; and all my best accidents have befallen me on a Friday.”
OK. Maybe that is just a tad too much, but Fridays are good days for the most part. I consider this one good and gooder. It [...]

She is now 1/2 price. This morning at 3:00 a.m. She came into my bedroom hollering and trying to upset the dog who was sleeping on his bed, snoring away. I chased her out and went back to bed. Fifteen minutes later, she returned and went straight for the dog. I chased her out. [...]
Another random Wednesday? Whoa, how’d that happen?

I seem to be mislaying my days. I get them out first thing in the morning and by mid-morning they’ve slipped under a cushion or fallen down next to a chair or who knows. I can manage my weekend days, but the week days are a different story altogether. They are stubborn and have cowlicks. [...]

That is a real line that I remember hearing on a news show many years ago. I can still hear the man saying the words, and they still crack me up. For review. I’m easy to amuse. I think it was just the man and the situation and the fact that it made the news. [...]

Doesn’t little David Bowie look so young? Of course this blog has nothing to do with the song. I don’t recall ever saying I didn’t want to be richer. I just don’t want the burdens and crap that go along with wealth. And, there are so many burdens and crap involved [...]
Friday Warning….Alert Alert Alert!

He who laughs on Friday will weep on Sunday. Sorrow follows in the wake of joy. The line is taken from Racine’s comedy of Les Plaideurs. Bartlett’s Quotations
Oh, goody. So, if I laugh today by Sunday I’m in tears. That sorta sucks, doesn’t it? If we just consider the law of averages, then yes, it’s [...]
Thursdays are for Grover

Looking for a cute picture of Grover isn’t hard. Looking for one you haven’t seen is. Some people don’t like big dogs and I have very little patience with those “some”. We were out walking last Saturday afternoon (in the light for a change) and a couple came toward us on the other side of [...]
Hey kids! Ya know what day it is????

Why, kids, it’s Random Wednesday!!! I do believe I become more random every day, but in the interest of maintaining some decorum (and, we all need decorum)I try to be random only one day a week.
I am still slogging, and I do mean slogging, along with Thing 2. It looks like Thing 1 only it’s [...]

Yup. It’s a beautiful morning in fall in Middle Earth and it’s a beautiful morning. Oops, I’m repeating myself. And, I’m being redundant. You can knock me down, but you can’t keep me down. I’m a Weeble. Do you remember Weebles? My little brother was part of the Weeble generation. They were little F*sch*r Pr*ce [...]
Long hard weekend

Mom and I went to the “Short Term Memory” Clinic on Friday. She was diagnosed with mild Alzheimer’s disease. After picking my heart up off the floor, I accepted that I probably had already known the diagnosis and was grateful it was mild. We spent the rest of the weekend learning to live with it. [...]
