And, no, this is not in place of my usual Friday posts. Somebody out there is gonna have to work I’ll bet and I’ll be on the job for them on the “real” Friday morning to assure that they can start their day in a right and proper manner.
Since it’s Random Wriday today, I’ll begin with a pledge. I don’t ever want to knit colorwork again! Sure. It’s pretty. Sure. It’s versatile. Sure. It’s a pain in my butt. I seriously do not enjoy the process, so I will seriously avoid it from now on. The only caveat being that some day when the wounds fully heal, I will knit Bird in Hand.
Grover will not be sharing our Thanksgiving holiday (at least part of the day). My BSIL’s mother is afraid of him and because I love my BSIL and want to maintain harmony, the big boy is going to the cageless kennel for a playdate. I will miss him more than he will miss me. He has so much fun with “the kids” that the minute I ask him if he wants to go see “the kids” he runs to the car and whimpers. And, I am aware that although I know he is the most brilliant and well-behaved dog in the entire universe, others might not agree. They are wrong. But, they are allowed to disagree, only not to my face. I can be very reasonable if I feel like it.
I am slowly working on the back of the Cosmo Cardi. It is about 5″ and growing slowly. This Christmas knitting is cramping my style. Of course, the logical assertion is that I should have been doing it all year long. Well, you know what you can do with your stupid logic. That would require planning and consideration and execution. Three things I do with such rarity as to require me to spellcheck and use the language Thesaurus thingy. So, I’ll do the panic knitting and pray it’s ok and done.
I will not be blogging tomorrow. I will be up before dawn and walking the dog and getting things together so I will not have time. And, because I will not have time, I want to wish you all a blessed and happy day. There are so many things to be grateful for. I hope you get to spend the day exactly the way you want to. I’ll be back Friday morning.
And, because Thursday is a day a thanksgiving, I leave you with church music (snort). Here is Adam Buxton’s interpretation of a Hymn of Praise. Enjoy and have a good one!
Ha, ha, ha, ha…that’s so funny! Thanks for the early morning laugh. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day, my friend.
Heee! Hilarious, you naughty delightful woman!
I wish I lived closer, I’d take Grover for the day, in a heart beat I would but I realize he’ll have tons of fun with his peeps…er.. dogfaced buddies.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day tomorrow, remember to just breathe, eh? and enjoy.
XOX
I think you’re pretty full of planning and consideration and execution since it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet and you’re doing Christmas knitting! I thought you were supposed to wait until the week before Christmas to do Christmas knitting. Enoy your Thanksgiving!
Having knit bird in hand in cashmere (yummm) I feel no need to do any other color work.
I choked on my cereal while listening to that “church music” LOL – that was a good laugh – thanks!!!
Sorry Grover can’t be with you for the turkey fest, but sounds like he’ll have fun with his puppy pals.
My mom’s the same way about being freally scared of dogs. I hope to change that someday.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Whoa..I think I invented a new word “freally” – that means freally as in “for real” heheh
Typo. That’s what happens when I choke on my breakfast cereal
I understand some people have have phobias, but I’m sorry that dear Grover scares someone. I’m sure that he will have a delightful time so don’t worry about him. I hope your Thanksgiving celebration is wonderful. If you want to really impress your guests then check out Michelle’s turkey cooking recipe from the Pink and Sparkly site listed on my side bar. I dare you to do it!
Sorry to hear about Grover. Giggling away at the ‘church music’ – needed the laugh, thank you!
