I need a new computer. I am getting a new computer. It is a gift. I’m not sure I’m supposed to talk about it, but I wanna. I really truly wanna. I have never received a “big” gift from anybody but my Mum. This just floors me. I “know” I’m loved. I “know” I’m liked, but for somebody to spend their hard earned cash on a “big” gift for me just blows my mind. I’m not insecure and I’m not without confidence. I’m fairly intelligent. I have a really good vocabulary and all the girls in the dorm liked me;-) I’m just stunned that the amazing people giving me this present are doing so. When, and if, I’m given the green light, I’ll clue you in.
I was given some pretty amazing presents for Christmas, too. I got a pair (beyond gorgeous) of handknit socks from my BSIL. She is an amazing knitter and I love these socks beyond reason. I also got a pair of handknit fingerless mitts from Peanut. She took the Nutkin pattern and adapted it. I’m so proud I could bust. And, she took me out of my comfort zone. The color is orange! She has become a pretty darned amazing knitter. Fearless, and I’m so proud of her. Lil Bit gave me two pair of earrings. One is a pair of silver hoops. The other are posted below. I got a Christmas package from Heidi with a gorgeous shawl bad pic below). There were other wonderful gifts, as well. Christmas was good and the following 3 days were fairly restful and enjoyable. Today, I go back to work. I’m ready to get back into the routine again. At least for 3 days. Then, another four days off!!
OK. There are supposed to be pictures of the socks, fingerless mitts and earrings. Then, I was going to show you a picture of what Heidi knit for me. But, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I can’t upload any pictures. Dammit! I’m a tad frustrated here. My pictures suck. I know that. But, when the hell did the computer get editorial rights, huh? I don’t even know if I’ll be able to share my soundtrack of the day. Oh, well, let’s give it a try shall we? Since I can’t do anything else?

Pictures or no it sounds like a lovely, lovely, well deserved Holiday. It is such a lift when you realize someone does care enough to give you something “big”. You do get what you give and you deserve big!
I’m almost looking forward to going back because I know there is another long weekend….ahhh.
Very exciting about the computer! In my experience, people don’t give serious gifts like that unless they get more pleasure out of the giving than the recipient gets from the getting, so just enjoy!!!

The rain has come and washed most of the snow away.. I’m a little sad it’s gone, but happy to be out of confinement. Just gotta get through 3 workdays this week then I have a 4 day weekend – w00h00!
I’m so excited that you’re getting a new computer. Hope it all works smoothly. If not for my DH taking care of technical aspects of my life I’d still be completely computerless.
