Hello. I’m back with the living once again. Still, virtually no knitting to show. PurplePi has 2.5 rows added to her edging. I cannot believe how big she is and how tiny that darned edging looks. Since it’s ruffled, the scrunching part has become rather difficult. The edging is no more than 3″ deep (and, that’s blocked, sort of) and that is unacceptable for me. I want it to be 5 or 6″. That would be attractive. 10″ would be gorgeous. We’ll just have to see because there is a serious yarnage issue with this baby. I have already gone through over 1200+ yards and am on my very very last skein of about 400 yards. 10″ doesn’t seem doable and there is no chance of getting anymore of this beautiful yarn because it was all Jessie had. No. chance. of. getting. any. more. Must. be. realistic.
I will show you a picture from the last time I took one and you can imagine it 2-1/2 rows larger.

Ah, yes. I remember it well. I have even stayed true to her. But, Joy told me she has only knit one round shawl. This will be it for me, too. I’m ready to move on. We’ve had enough of each other and both are ready to move onto other relationships.
My Dad’s birthday is today. He was born before tax day was created. In fact, if he had lived, he would be 93 today. Nah. It wouldn’t have happened. I still miss him, but feel his presence. I will wish him a happy birthday when Mom gets up. I know she’ll tear up, but I don’t believe in avoiding the issue. I want to honor his memory and we’ll chat about it a bit. I think it helps her to talk about emotional issues. This is recent and probably due to the Alzheimer’s, but I know it helps me and she seems to internalize a bit less when we talk about it.
I wish you a pleasant tax day (hahahahaha) and leave you with this song. The Muppets and “Ode to Joy”.
Happy Happy Wednesday to you!! And Happy Birthday Dad.
Purple Pi is gorgeous and imo a 5″ ruffle would be perfect. We always miss our parents. My mom’s been gone 20 years and I still talk to her everyday.
Happy Hump Day!
I clicked on the photo of Purple Pi, nothing, clicked on it again (smacks her own forehead) because I wanted to see it BIG, perhaps I really am crazy. Purple Pi IS gorgeous. As to that edging, there’s only so much yarn, that’s it, out of your control, and besides, it is GORGEOUS!
Happy Birthday to your Da. I’m glad to hear you feel him close by, and as to talking about him, that’s how we keep them alive (as if they need our help :^). (that coming from a heathen)
My own dear Da quit walking this earth (as we know it) in Nov. ‘97, I always wish him a happy birthday every year, I also have little daily chats with him. Miss him like crazy.
Honouring our people, it’s a good thing.
Happy Wednesday!
I love Beaker! We have a mini-Beaker doll on my DH’s desk. Purple Pi is huge! Happy birthday to Dad and big hugs to Mum and yourself.
Hee heee. Or should I say Meeee meee. Grins. Love the Muppets. Purple Pi is lovely!
Comin’ along nicely – good luck with the yarn supply! As much as Pi’s can grow you may not need to do as much more as you think.
Beaker, the Ode to Joy, and Purple Pi all in one post. I think I’ve died and gone to heaven.
