Mystery Solved

I have not wanted to write much about the past two weeks in my winkyworld because everything happened so fast and I wanted it to work out so badly. Ten days ago I had an interview for a job that I wanted very much. Actually, the job was supposed to be available in July, but some things happened and I suspected the job was taken and I was sol.  I accepted it and moved on with my life.  Then, I got the call for the interview and showed up with a smile on my face and enthusiasm to burn.  I thought the interview had gone well, but didn’t hear until this past Wednesday just before Grover and I went to choir.   I got the job.   I was so excited and stunned, but I couldn’t talk  about it because my new boss wanted to talk to my old boss.  There is a working relationship between the companies and my new boss did not want to jeopardize their relationship.   They had their chat Friday afternoon and then I started to worry.   I have worked with “Di” since she was 21.   I am 10 years older than her and have worked with her for 28  years.  She helped me bury my baby brother and my mother.   I helped her bury her grandfather, grandmother, aunt and I also saw her get married and have her three beautiful daughters and her adorable grandson.   In other words, there are some serious ties.   She called me to congratulate me.  Always gracious.  It will be a difficult good-bye.  My job has been tenuous for some time and although I think the company can make it, they need to make some serious changes and cut alot of excesses to survive.   I hope they can make it.  I like these people alot.  But, my future is elsewhere now.   That is the mystery I spoke of last week.  The flowers?   A gift from two very special men in my life.  My “D” and “J”.   There even is a paper mache loon/duck/goose  in the bouquet.

We’ll see today how things will play out.   I have a feeling it will be very interesting, but maybe not.   I will of course let you know.  This new  job will be 40-60 hours per week, so blogging may be harder once I start.  We’ll just play it by ear ’cause that’s how I roll these days.  I certainly will not give up blogging.  I love it, and you all, too much.

My soundtrack today is a song that I heard this weekend and remembered liking so much when it came out………”Easy Evil” by John Kay.

Have a great Monday all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I’ve read your job anxiety for a while and I sincerely hope that this is a great move for you!

I’m a couple of years away from moving on (need to have 3 years of experience on my resume) but might be doing some freelancing this winter that will help out with the bills. We’ll see.

Anyway, great good luck in your new endeavors!

Wow, that’s great news! Best of luck with the new job. Even if it means more hours, job stability makes up for a lot.

I can empathize with the hard good-byes, though. I’ve had the best boss ever for the last five years, and just found out last week that she’s leaving the company. I’m happy for her, but sad for me (and more than a little nervous about taking over all her work as well as mine). Hopefully you’ll be able to keep in contact, since the two companies work together.
