Wednesday in winkyworld

Welcome to my world.   I am in a good mood except for this whole mid-term election nightmare.   When will the negative campaigning stop?  Unless you can make a guarantee, this is a rhetorical question.

Many of the leaves are still green, but they are changing.   This is a rather disappointing color year here.   The burning bushes are red and the leaves are falling and that doesn’t normally happen in winkyworld until November.  It could all be due to the wet spring and early summer and the dry end of summer, but I really don’t have a clue.

I am part of a knitting group that is meeting at the church and knitting for charity.  We are also teaching those who wish to learn.  As I suspected.   I suck at teaching knitting, too.   My dear student “N” told me that I was very patient, but I believe she was just being nice.   We are knitting small squares to make a baby blanket.  At the rate we’re going, we should have our first blanket by, oh, 2013.  After two hours, I was the only one with a complete 4″ square and that’s mostly because “N” was a quick study.

Monday afternoon when I went to pick my Grover up at “camp”, they presented me with a framed picture of my big boy and a bag of goodies and toys for him.   He is the “Star of the Week” for daycamp.   He makes his mother so proud.   He has several friends at camp.   One is a Great Dane and another is a Great Pyrenees.  Wee pups.  I’m just glad he has fun and gets out of the house once in a while.  I’m also very grateful that others know what a terrific dog he is.

My soundtrack for this Humpty Day?   How about Canned Heat??????  “Goin’ Up the Country” .  Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a wonderful Humpty Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congratulations Grover!!!!!
Teaching others to knit takes great patience. Good for you in spreading the love. Everyone will pick up speed as they improve and you’ll have the blanket finished in 2011!

Yeah for Grover! I love that the pup care has a Star of the Week – You must be a very proud mom 🙂

I’ve only taught one person how to knit, but it was a very rewarding experience when you see what they’ve accomplished with their new skills.

I made my first crochet student cry, and my fifth student made me cry so you are doing just fine teaching in my book. I stick to knitting. I can teach almost anyone to knit, but I’ve sworn off crochet lessons…. 😉

    He’s such a good boy!

I will be so thankful when we’re past the elections and the phone stops ringing non-stop day and night.

Grover is always a star… I’m glad that it’s formal now. I’ve not had the chance to take long autumn walks this year and I’m craving the sights and smells. Because we live near Portland, OR, but in WA, we get to watch political ads for both states. Friggin’ joy! Happy Wednesday m’dear!
