Whirlwind…….whirly-type windy stuff

Another whirlwind weekend gang!  I’d be whiney, but I feel grateful to be able to fully participate in life.  My BSIL had a major type birthday this year, so my BB brought both girls home.   Lil Bit from Chicago and Peanut from Baton Rouge.  It was the perfect present for BSIL and she seemed to enjoy herself, plus we all got the added benefit of getting to see them.  I started cooking and grocery shopping on Friday after work and kept at it until I left the house for the party.  So today, I was really really too pooped to pop.  After walking the little boy, we had a leisurely breakfast and then, I cleaned and did laundry and ironed and all that fun stuff.  I have found that I cannot stand the added confusion of dog/cat fur after a week.  I also realized that I could avoid that by using the little hand vacuum I bought about 15 years ago and never used.  I’m slow, but the ideas do eventually dawn on me that I can do something without purchasing another “thing”.

My microwave is not feeling well these days and I have decided that when it finally goes to the radiation depository in the atmosphere, I will not replace it.   I have a tee-tiny kitchen and no counter space, so this would free up some very valuable working space for me.  That, plus I won’t have to purchase another “thing”.

By the way, Grover is a FB star.  My dear friend, Sharon, took a picture of the boy at choir rehearsal last week and posted it.  It’s adorable, but I’m just a little bit partial.  I don’t know why I never think of that stuff.  At the birthday party, I remembered to bring the camera, but completely forgot to take any pictures at all.  le sigh.

And, my D made me a decadent chocolate cake.  That’s like saying the Bentley is a large car.  I will not share, but I did have one small piece on Saturday and it gave me a killer case of indigestion.  I’m having another piece after dinner tonight.  More indigestion, but I don’t care.  He asked me to make my Red Wine Chocolate Sauce, which I did, so he could pour it on the cake.  That is more than gilding a lily.  The sauce is not sweet per se, but more on the bitter side, so you need to have it with something very sweet, like vanilla bean ice cream.  I cannot imagine having it on the fabulous alone chocolate cake.  I hope it was good.  I hope they survive!

Since I forgot the camera and see no need for pictures of a “before” and “after” cleanish house, I will send you on your way.  My soundtrack for today?  How’s about some Janis?  I’ve been missing her lately.  I can imagine she never would have gotten past the great Simon Cowell on Idol, but then again, look at the music we’re stuck with now.

Have a great Monday!!

Happy Sunday to you! Chocolate is so very good for one’s soul. Do you have a link to Grover’s FB picture or is it private? He’s such an adorable fellow. Many talented singers of yesterday would never pass muster in the looks department today and not be given a chance to perform. And yet Britney Spears has a contract. That young lady’s voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard imo, but Disney hired her because she fit their image. What a sell out. Cheers!

Sounds like a great weekend! Those little handheld vacs are great for pet clean ups, but I’m not sure we’d make it without a microwave – however would I reheat (and re-reheat) my tea when I forget and let it get cold 😉

JJ was her own person….a shooting star. Your weekend sounds marvelous, busy and fun. Microwaves aren’t good for much, except warming up Smith’s cold coffee.

I’ve been using my microwave for nuking up my coffee on the weekends when I still need another cup or two but the coffee maker has already turned off. I know how you feel about having to buy another “thing” – we’re trying to avoid “thing” replacing too. Uhm, hello? red wine chocolate sauce??? count me in! that sounds absolutely divine! Recipe? 🙂

How wonderful, celebrating BSIL’s birthday, having both girls there, and and and!
Thing purchasing, gah. I would probably miss the microwave though, I use it to heat up left overs, Bobby uses it to reheat his coffee. I know I could live without one though, did for many many years.
Hooboy, your last sentence… ain’t that the truth!
